An important part of cold calling is having confidence in yourself when attempting to book the meeting with the decision-maker. A lot of amateur SDRs make the mistake of saying they will pass the prospect off to another person, like an AE. By building your authority as the subject matter expert, the gatekeeper or decision-maker is more likely to take the next call with you.
Would you ask a girl to guy to marry you on your first date? No way! So why are SDRs pitching their solution as soon as they get a prospect on the phone? It is important to identify the prospect’s pain points and see if your solution is a fit for their business before you jump to the sales pitch!
